Hot Apple Cider Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 liters (8 cups) apple cider or natural apple juice
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4–5 whole cloves
- 1 star anise (optional)
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (or ½ teaspoon ground ginger)
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar (optional, to taste)
Instructions
- Pour the apple cider into a large pot.
- Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, ginger, and orange slices.
- Heat over medium-low heat until steaming, but do not let it boil.
- Reduce the heat and let it simmer gently for 20–30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Strain out the spices and orange slices.
- Sweeten with honey or brown sugar if desired, then serve warm.
